When Dirt Cheap Beer & Cigarettes called to ask “what we could do in order to keep their new building in West Alton safe & dry”, we got to work quickly on a plan. After finding out all that we could on the weather prediction for more rain, coupled with the crest level of the Mississippi, Midwest Service Group helped the owners of Dirt Cheap to formulate a plan of how tall the sandbag wall would need to be and what other precautions (like moving out expensive product and equipment).
As you can see in the photos, the 8 foot sandbag wall held and Dirt Cheap avoided a catastrophe! Clean-up in order to get back into the store was minimal compared to the devastation that could have taken place.
